Cyber security concerns on Amazon Prime Day

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Today is Amazon Prime day, and you may be tempted to stock up that shopping cart, but Americans are concerned about their online security.

According to the 2019 Unisys Security Index, consumers are concerned about the following:
- More than half of Americans are seriously concerned about the security of their online shopping and banking activities.
- The threat of hacking and viruses is driving much of the concern around internet security, with 57 percent of Americans seriously concerned about the risk of being hacked or their security compromised while online
- 70 percent of Americans would agree with the growing amount of data, apps and devices, it is high time to create a new, more secure and controlled internet.
- Almost two-thirds of Americans are seriously concerned that their identity could be stolen or misused.

Last year’s Amazon Prime Day sales estimated $4.19 billion globally.
