A grand jury says a Cass County deputy was justified in using deadly force last year.
The grand jury found Deputy Tyler Reiff had reason to believe his life was in jeopardy when he shot Austin Baier five times on September 21st. Reiff says he fired after Baier charged at him and ignored his orders to stop.
Reiff stopped Baier in Louisville for reckless driving. Baier was not holding a weapon when he was shot, but a hunting knife was found in his car's dashboard.
