Developers could be moving onto Dana College

Posted

A special meeting will be held in Blair Monday night to discuss potential opportunities for the vacant Dana College campus.

City officials sent out a release to local media on Wednesday, saying undisclosed developers would be presenting possible projects to the city and to the public.

Officials said they would not release details to the potential projects or developers and would rather the developers make the presentations at the meeting.

A developer from Omaha bought the 150-acre property in 2013 for $3.5 million, but the campus has been vacant since 2013.

The multi-building lot has been a good target for vandals who have broken windows and doors.

The buildings also sustained damage from a major hail storm in 2012, which cost millions of dollars in repairs.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
