According to a report from the Washington Post, Disney knew its theme parks were filled with alligators prior to the death of 2-year-old Elkhorn boy Lane Graves in 2016.

Between May 2006 and August 2015, 220 gators were removed from the parks. Between June of 2015 and June of 2016, there were 40 gators captured at Disney parks and that number went to 83 from June 2016-June 2017.

The story also states just days before Graves was killed by an alligator, six were taken out of Seven Seas Lagoon. After searching for Graves' remains, five more alligators were removed from the property.
