OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — A man being held at the Douglas County Department of Corrections for a sex offender registry violation died at a hospital Tuesday morning.
According to the Douglas County Department of Corrections, inmate Philip Teplitsky was taken to Nebraska Medicine at 2:45 p.m. on Monday for a medical condition that became life-threatening.
Teplitsky, 37, died at 11:05 a.m. Tuesday.
Teplitsky entered corrections on January 6, 2020.
There is no further comment pending the resolution of a grand jury investigation, which is required by state law each time an inmate dies.
