A pair of Douglas County deputies talked a man off the bridge over the interstate at I-680 and West Maple early Friday morning.
According to a release, a deputy noticed the man straddling the bridge and went to talk to him after completing a traffic stop. The man was initially hesitant to talk to the deputies but one kept him engaged while the other pulled him to safety.
After he was safely off the bridge, the man admitted he was planning on committing suicide and was going to make one more phone call to a loved one before before the deputies' arrived.
