SARPY CO., Neb. (KMTV) — Our camera crew along Highway 34 near the Missouri River noticed a truck driver trying to make it across a swamped road.
As the water got higher, the truck got slower and eventually stopped.
The driver climbed out of the window, and someone in a tractor that happened to be nearby was able to tow the truck off the road and get the driver to safety.
First responders urge people to remember, "turn around, don't drown."
POWER OF WATER: Remember, it doesn't take much to carry you or your car away. Turn Around, Don't Drown and stay away from flood waters!! #Omaha @3NewsNowOmaha pic.twitter.com/pKzPoOM05G
