In the parking lot of Millard South. It's hot..

But these stares are stone cold.

Feet, furiously tapping.

And the focus laser strong.

The blue devils, out of California are part of Drum Corps international.

At the beginning of the summer kids ages 15 to 21 audition to get on competitive teams touring more than 40 stops to perfect their precision.

The practices...the work of perfectionists...they can go up to 12 hours a day in the heat, these 160 performers-part musician part athlete go through a gallon of water every three hours.

It's definitely a tough gig, one you might need to march to your own drum to really enjoy. But already Monday, before the show,

Folks from the community were coming out to catch a glimpse and a listen before the big show.
