Douglas County voters got to take advantage of early Saturday voting. For the first time in decades, the Election Commission opened its doors on a Saturday for the primary election.
The office was open between 9am and 1pm for walk-in voters, with almost 75 voters in just the first hour.
Election Commissioner Brain Kruse said they listened to voters needs and responded.
"Person after person has said 'thank you' for being open this morning. So, that's kind of an affirmation, confirmation that we're doing the right things for voters. Anytime we can get more voters out to hear their voices heard it's a wonderful thing,” said Kruse.
There will be one more chance to vote on a Saturday before the primary election, on May 6th. For more details, visit www.votedouglascounty.com.
