OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) - Voters in the Elkhorn and Bennington school districts have overwhelmingly approved school bond issues..
64 percent of voters in both districts approved the bond issues. In Elkhorn, the vote was 7,319 in favor to 4,024 against. Bennington voters approved the bond issue 2,155 to 1,162
Bennington and Elkhorn asked for the bonds to build new school buildings and upgrade current facilities.. Elkhorn will issue nearly $150 million in bonds, while Bennington will issue $36 million.
In Elkhorn.. the owner of a 150-thousand dollar home will see a 150 dollar increase in their property taxes. The bond issue isn't expected to increase Bennington's tax levy.
