OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — After months of closures, the Papio NRD has announced that two of its Elkhorn river access sites are opening today at noon.
The river will open at Graske Crossing and West Maple Road, which have been closed since October 2018, due to high water damage. The Elkhorn Crossing access site remains closed, and has been since September 2018.
In addition, the Platte River Landing boat ramp and playground are open. The Papio NRD encourages everyone to be safe and wear life jackets.
Papio NRD adds that the season starts April 1, and this is the first time the Graske and West Maple access sites have been open.
