Officials say that Elkhorn River high water continues and boating conditions on the river have not improved enough to reopen Papio-Missouri River NRD Elkhorn River access sites in Douglas County.
All NRD Elkhorn River sites will remain closed until the weekend.
“Drier weather is in the forecast and river levels are likely to drop over the next few days,” said John Winkler, Papio-Missouri River NRD General Manager. “We hope to reopen the Elkhorn River access parks next week.”
The closed Elkhorn River access sites include Elkhorn Crossing near 252nd St and Bennington Rd., Graske Crossing off West Dodge Rd and the West Maple Rd. site.
However, the NRD’s Platte River Landing park and river access near highway 64 remains open.
