Omaha Police are investigating a homicide that occurred Monday morning in the area near 28th and Laurel.

Police say 37-year-old Wesley Brayman was found dead inside the home.

Three of Brayman's children were home at the time. Two walked to Miller Park Elementary for help.

"I just hope that what happened comes out and the person that did this justifies themselves. They need to give themselves up because there's no reason why my adolescent cousins were to find their dad laying on the flood dead and go to a school to tell them, know what I mean," said Daevon Bruns, cousin of Welsey Brayman. "That's how they found him, you know. It's not right."

Brayman's family says they want the suspect to come forward.

"I don't know how to feel about this. Our family doesn't know how to feel about this. We ask for everybody's prayers. But my cousin wasn't the best person in the world but he served his time. He did wrong things he paid for it. But this was filth. This was disgusting," said Bruns.

Police are still investigating.
