A family shocked by the loss of a loved one, and her boyfriend is accused in the brutal crime.

Bellevue Police say were called to a home at the Washington Terrace near downtown Bellevue on Thursday night because a family member had found 51-year-old Beverly Diane Bauermeister dead.  Officers say she had significant trauma to her body.

A few hours later they locate her boyfriend, Alan Stack inside the victim's truck. Police booked the 56-year-old into the Sarpy County Jail for second-degree murder.

Diane is described by family as an energetic woman who made everyone laugh. They say she had two grandchildren, and took care of her 90-year-old mother.

"I consider her my mother so I'm taking this very very hard. I cried for 5 hours straight when I found out.  I still can't believe it, I really can't, I can't wrap my head around it," said Katarina Bauermeister, Diane's niece.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover expenses.

Stack has been put on probation twice for violating protection orders issued for Bauermeister. In a 2010 protection order, she wrote Stack hit her multiple times and told her she was going to die.

Police haven't released a motive. Stack doesn't have a court date set, but will likely face a judge early next week.
