Rescue crews say a mother, father, and their son who was about 9 years old took off in a canoe, it took boats much bigger to get them safely back to shore.

A mother, father and son all saved because of quick action from Brandon Moore and others who jumped in.

Then called his father's airboat in who helped rescue the mother too.

Moore said they only been living up here for about two years now and they wanted to go out canoeing and they were able to get in on some private property.

The currents are a problem the debris under is even worse. It's why all river access points have been close now for over a week. It's also why the warning is out for people to stay off the water

There's a reason why we tell people not to get on the river it's for situations like this"

Waterloo Fire Chief Travis Harlow said Valley and Waterloo rushed to the access point in the river he knows the family is lucky someone was there to help
