People gathered in South Omaha last night for a good meal to help less fortunate families, the Heartland Hope Mission held its Feed a Family event at 21st and U.
KMTV meteorologist Jennifer Zeppelin emceed last night's dinner. The fundraiser helps provide food, clothing and other resources for Omaha's working poor.
"A lot of the clients we serve are the working poor, they're in a crisis situation, they were middle class and there was a medical issue or someone lost a job, so they just need a little help to get back on their feet," Heartland Hope Mission CEO Chelsea Salifou.
Heartland Hope operates one of the largest food pantries in the state and also offers services like employment resources and financial classes.
