One man is closer to being punished for prostituting a 15-year-old Bellevue girl, while another will be sentenced for sex trafficking a different person.
Branden Felt, 20, pleads guilty to felony attempted trafficking, profiting from human trafficking, and evidence tampering in Sarpy County District Court on Monday.
In July, Bellevue Police located a missing juvenile who was exchanging money for sex at a motel near Offutt Air Force Base.
Court documents say Felt set up the ads on backpage.com, while Kylie Ray rented the room. They also indicate the prostitution had been going on for a few months in Omaha.
Ray has been convicted and given probation.
"She's a minor child; she's a victim of what they obviously did to her being trafficked, so that's pretty serious charges. What she has to do to get over that isn't going to be easy and it's something she's going to have to deal with for the rest of her life," said Deputy Sarpy Co. Attorney Phil Kleine.
Jesse Blum, 23, also pleads guilty to sex trafficking but skipped out on his sentencing last week. Sunday night he was thrown back in jail to face his punishment.
The victim’s family says they wanted all 3 suspects to go to prison.
Felt faces up to 25 years in prison and will be sentenced in June. Blum, who is behind bars, could get four years.
