A bill that would place more state agencies on Nebraska's spending transparency website advanced in the Legislature.
Senators voted 33-0 Monday in favor of the bill that would require independent agencies using state money or government appointed boards to make their financial records public. Those documents would appear on the state spending website along those of all state agencies and the University of Nebraska.
The bill could affect as many as 24 agencies that are currently not part of the state's main accounting system, such as the Nebraska State Fair Board, Environmental Trust Board, and the State Anatomical Board.
