A fire broke out at Bellevue home Thursday afternoon.
Crews responded to 22nd and Myrtle Streets around 2:30 p.m.
They noticed a fire on an air conditioner unit at one home and another one at a home across the street.
Firefighters tell us no one was inside that home when it caught fire.
However, two dogs were home and did not survive.
Firefighters at the scene believe it may have been an electrical surge.
"We've had power surges in the past cause small fires usually in trees, transformers. I can't recall any that involved two homes at the same time." Jack Syphers, Bellevue fire spokesman said.
Crews were able to get both fires under control in a short time.
They say the home has a lot of damage.
The cause of the fires remains under investigation.
