Two men were cited by Lancaster County deputies for having a cooked Canadian goose at their fishing site, along with two more cooked geese in their car and 42 goose eggs.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says Ler Shie and Lah Oo were fishing at Wagon Train Lake on Sunday when deputies made the discovery.
Investigators say someone else shot the geese on Saturday, even though the hunting season ended last month.
The geese and the eggs that weren’t cracked were turned over to Nebraska Game and Parks.
Both men were cited for possession of a Canadian goose in closed season. Lah was also cited for no fishing permit.
