OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Fixer employees would normally come to your home and fix, improve or remodel. But with COVID-19, switching over to DIY is right on time.

Home repairs can get pretty costly, and most people have no idea where to start. With COVID-19, Fixer decided to help people do it themselves.

"We found that there was a huge demand for it," said Fixer founder, Michael Evan. "People are cooped up at home, and they see a lot of things wrong in their home because they are there all day."

They do live video consultations, where they go into your home virtually and assist.

"I think that this is here to say," Evan said. "The fact that an expert can diagnose four or five problems that are going on with the toilet or sink and it can be $15, when a plumber charges up to $300 just to walk in the door, even if all they do is plunge a toilet."

"A lot of times, just being able to see and hear the problem an expert can tell you exactly what is wrong, quickly and cheaply," Evan said.

Some clients are eager to get started, while others are a bit more cautious.

"Customers are surprised at how much they can do with just a screwdriver and a coach," Evan said. "It turns out most people are a lot handier than they realize. Ten minutes later they have fixed the problem."

Pricing is just as surprising as the first 5 minutes are free and then it is $15 for every 15 minutes after that.

They say their consults usually average about 30 minutes, which equates to just $30. You can find more information at https://fixer.com/.
