A former Omaha gymnastics teacher was in an Emporia, Kan., jail Thursday night facing felony charges of manufacturing child pornography in Omaha.
A report filed with OPD July 6 report indicated that Bryce Fogg, 27, had photographed and videotaped females without their knowledge at Premier Gymnastics, located near 108th and Fort streets in Omaha. A domestic abuse protection order filed July 7 in Douglas County District Court alleges Fogg had on his iPad photographs of a victim “in private, compromising positions,” taken at the gym between Nov. 1, 2016, and May 1 without the victim’s knowledge or consent.
OPD investigators contaced Emporia Police, who subsequently arrested Fogg at his residence, police reports state. He is awaiting extradition to Omaha on the felony and other misdemeanor charges, records state.
Meanwhile, the OPD investigation continues. OPD’s Special Victims Unit is asking any additional victims to contact them at 402-444-5636.
Fogg had recently moved to Kansas, starting May 1 as a coach at Sunflower Gymnastics in Emporia, according to an April 19 photo post on the gym’s Facebook page welcoming him.
Sunflower owner David Domeland said Thursday night that Fogg had turned in his notice on Wednesday. When gym staff found out about allegations made against him just before noon the following day, Domeland said, they deleted a post on the gym’s Facebook page wishing Fogg well and notified all Sunflower Gymnasium families of Fogg’s firing and circumstances.
“They are devastated and can’t say how much this hurts,” Domeland said.
Citing the gym’s concern for the safety of their students, he said the gym had done a background check when Fogg was initially hired at Sunflower and that it had come back “normal.”
Domeland said police informed him the incident leading to Fogg’s arrest appeared to be isolated to Premier in Omaha.
