Former Omaha Police Officer Scotty Payne had his bond set at $25,000 - 10 percent for stun gun incident where Zachary Bearheels died.
Douglas County Attorney charged Payne with second-degree Wednesday. Once the bond has been paid, Payne will be released leading up to his trial. He will be back in court Sept. 11.
If convicted, Payne faces up to 20 years in prison.
