Two former Secretaries of State were front and center in Omaha Tuesday night.
Madeleine Albright and Colin Powell spoke at a soldout event on the Creighton campus. The two leaders discussed both national and global issues. The event was part of Creighton's Presidential Lecture Series.
Albright served as the Secretary of State for President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001. She was the first woman to hold the role.
Powell was the Secretary of State from 2001 until 2005, serving in George W. Bush's administration.
The students in attendance helped shape the topics the pair spoke about, beginning with the mass shooting in Pittsburgh. The pair also called for unity and spoke out against tribalism in modern politics.
More than 2,000 people were in attendance.
