Four-year-old girl shot Sunday evening

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Omaha Police say a four-year-old girl was struck by gunfire and injured after her father's van was shot at Sunday near N 27th and Ellison.

Police responded to the area at 7:35 p.m. for a Shotspotter activation.

Shortly after their arrival, a male arrived at the NE Precinct and waved down officers.

The male said his van was shot at and his four-year-old daughter was struck while driving near N 27th and Ellison.

Officers located the girl with non-life threatening injuries. She was transported by ambulance to the University of Nebraska Medical Center ER.

The suspect is described as a thin black male wearing blue clothing in a dark colored sedan.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
