OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Children without the means to take part in sports will be getting a little help thanks to the Tommie Frazier Foundation's "Tee It Up for Kids" golf event.

It's scheduled on June 3 and is a cause close to the former Husker's heart.

“Several years ago, when my son started playing youth football, some of his friends were unable to play because their families couldn’t afford to pay the registration fees, “said Tommie Frazier. “I felt something needed to be done. Sports has had such a positive impact on my life and it doesn’t seem fair that some kids can’t experience that just because their families can’t afford it, “said Frazier.

Money raised by the event will help pay league registration fees for children in the Metro.
