The city of Fremont officials discussed about possible zoning, and annexation, for the plant during a public meeting on Wednesday,
There are about 400 farmers in Dodge County who say they support a Costco chicken plant near the Hormel plant because it would mean job security for them.
At the same time, there are more than a thousand petition signatures, mostly from Fremont, who don't want Costco moving there.
Local farmer Scott Wagner says he's reviewed preliminary contract highlights from costco, and says it will be one of the best investments of his career.
Dodge County board meeting unanimously approved a proposal request by the city to annex 83 acres of land for a possible build site.
While preliminary contract highlights have been passed around, the chairman said a final decision has not yet been made.
