"It's hard for Fremont because they don't have any places to shop."

Some people say there's not much left of Fremont Mall and worry if Gordmans and JC Penney leave it will be a ghost town.

"It's sad that so many places have closed in the mall.

"Too small, not a lot to shop in here."

Shoppers say they will have to take their money to Omaha which is an inconvenience.

"We will probably have to drive an hour, and we are between Sioux City and Omaha."

Greater Fremont Development Council says JC Penney and Gordmans is not a representation of the city’s growth and what they have to offer.

"There's a lot of wonderful small local businesses in the community that provide a lot of the same goods that you can find in Gordmans and JC Penney"

Still shoppers say they want more places to shop at in this mall.

"Now if these two chains close there will be no place to shop except Walmart."

Greater Fremont Development Council says more tenants are looking to open stores in Fremont Mall, but until then shoppers say they may stop spending here.

"There will be a lot of people who will take their business to Omaha.
