Future of South Omaha firehouse in question

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — It is hard to miss Fire Station 31. It is a South Omaha staple with its distinctive mural and old school architecture, the 72-year-old building has stood the test of time.

But now, Omaha firefighters say the city's oldest station in South Omaha is outdated and tough to maintain. Even with several renovations in recent years, more room is still needed and now OFD is in negotations to build a new station at 40th and Q.
