Gretna city officials asked for the public's input when it comes to developing the downtown area.
The city debuted its plan for the area at an open house at the venue called Turtle Doves.
Last December, city officials urged folks who live there to decide the best way to brighten the downtown area. Tuesday night’s open house brought out the concept plan, which includes a way to identify the downtown area as a district.
The plan includes a splash pad and more greenery.
Right now, the estimated cost is at least $1 million.
The next part will be to meet with the downtown committee to make final changes before submitting the plans to city council in August.
