Cleanup is still going on weeks after tornadoes ripped through Bellevue.
A Papillion man is asking people to salvage parts of a barn before its bulldozed this weekend. Storms tore off the barn's roof, and Jonathon Dodd tells us the insurance company told him that the barn is a complete loss. That's when he got creative, giving his neighbors some incentive to help bring down the damaged building.
"A lot of things go to the landfill this time of year,” Dodd said. “We're trying to do our part to recycle, reuse and use resources that are going to waste whether that be debris from wood chips tree trimmings to materials like this."
The work here will continue every day this week. On Saturday, folks will have from 6 a.m. until the bulldozers arrive to get material from the wreckage.
If you would like to lend a hand to this effort, you can find more information about the barn tear-down on Facebook.
