OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Business owners are concerned about Halloween sales during this pandemic. Some have already set up Halloween displays and stocked the shelves with candy.
More than $8 billion was spent on Halloween, candy, costumes and decorations last year, according to the National Retail Federation. Candy on shelves is not a shocker for some shoppers.
"I'm not surprised. With everything going on I think they are just trying to make something a little bit exciting around here," shopper Tricia Pofahl said.
But with mask mandates, Halloween is an event that is actually mask friendly. If you are nervous about going to individual homes, you can put on your favorite costume and head to a public and spacious haunted house.
"Most of our attractions will be remain open with a limited capacity," said Kyla Shavers, Director of Marketing & Entertainment for Vala's Pumpkin Patch. "We did make it one way, and there are some things we had to take out due to COVID and safety."

"It's not pretty, it has a spider web look to it, but it is really sweet and it makes the best pumpkin pie," continued Shavers.
Along with pumpkin picking and pie making in the pie barn, they have plenty of additional outdoor, kid friendly activities.
