Haworth Park closed again because of flooding

Posted

Haworth Park is closed for the third time for flooding and high water at the Missouri River.

The RV camping portion of the park is closed for the season.

Bellevue Parks Superintendent Brian Madison says the flooding has caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to the park. Grass will need to re-seeded and electrical outlets at the RV sites repaired. There’s a loss of revenue from the camping.

Madison says Haworth Park is prone to flooding as it sits so close to the Missouri River and is surrounded by levees.

The park will reopen when the water recedes. There is no clear date.
