HDR engineering is moving in, after company officials decided not to head downtown
This site will soon become a sprawling 10 story office building with retailers on the first floor and on the eastern side.. a parking garage with restaurants and shopping.
Not only that, but the site also offers opportunity for future expansion with more than 220 thousand square feet.
Ample space for entertainment and even residential housing - 125 apartment units.
The S. 67th street site a switch up from the originally proposed downtown omaha location.
HDR CEO George Little says Aksarben Village is ideal for the company and says the 1917 South 67th street address is an homage to the centennial anniversary of the company.
"How coincidentally - or maybe not - is that," said CEO George Little, HDR. "So, I look at that and think about the fact that 1917 was when our company started. 1917 on that building - think about the significance."
Construction is expected to be finished by late 2018.
