The Douglas County Health Department says flu cases are on the rise this year, with 185 confirmed cases last week alone.
The state health department also calls the flu levels "widepread."
"If you feel like you have been run over by a train, it's probably not a typical cold," Douglas County senior epidemiologist said Anne O'Keefe said, "if you have other health conditions it might put you at greater risk of severe disease."
