Hitting the slopes at Mt. Crescent

When a lot of people hear snow is on the way, they are not the least bit excited. But for some in the area, more snow means better ski conditions.

Out in Iowa people spent their snow day on the slopes at Mount Crescent.

The hill was filled with skiers ranging from beginners to experts. A lot of families hit the slopes because they thought skiing and snowboarding would be a fun activity to do with the kids out of school for the day.

The ski hill has benefited from all of the recent weather and hasn't needed to add any man-made snow.

"It just put fresh snow everywhere, I think it put seven inches on top of the other nine we got the other day so we have 100-percent coverage, every run open, it's perfect," said Chris Andrew, Ski and Snowboard director at Mt. Crescent.

The staff at Mt. Crescent decided to leave some of the runs ungroomed so they could experience a taste of the big mountain life here in the Midwest.
