The Team Jack Foundation was honored by the FBI Wednesday for going above and beyond in serving our community.
The foundation is leading for the fight for improving the treatment options for children with brain cancer by funding research at the top centers in the world.
Since Jack Hoffman's cancer diagnosis in 2011, he has become the poster child for pediatric brain cancer awareness and research through yearly fundraising events, the foundation has raised nearly $5 million.
The foundation has also made a large commitment to UNMC, the Buffett Cancer Center and Children's Omaha.
"Team Jack started out with a sale of a $15 t-shirt. And that led to a $275,000 donation to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in January of 2013, which has yielded laboratory results just a few months ago which is going to be parlayed into a local trial, so even though it takes time, there is impact," the foundation's founder, Jack's father Andy said.
