Rockbrook Animal Clinic says this heat means it's dangerous to walk your dog on the hot concrete/asphalt. Within a matter of seconds, the hot surface will burn your dog's feet, damaging the soft pads.
At 77 degrees — the asphalt will reach 125. At 86 degrees — it will reach 135. At 87 degrees - it will reach 143. Skin destruction can happen in just one minute when it reaches 77 degrees outside.
