The political showdown in Washington is likely to have a ripple affect in Nebraska.
In Omaha, Offutt Air Force Base and the Army Corps of Engineers would keep functioning. However, at Eppley Airfield about 200 TSA Agents would have to work over Christmas without knowing when their next paycheck is coming.
The shutdown would also hit the National Park Service along the riverfront, causing the Lewis and Clark Visitor Center to close to during a shut down.
