Throughout the month of January the Omaha Public School District invites families into area classrooms to get the students and parents acclimated with each school.
On Tuesday, parents who have children entering kindergarten next school year got to ask Central Park Principal Will Schmidt questions, while their kids got to check out the classroom.
"This in my estimation is an effective methodology where we get them in early, get them acclimated and then continue to follow-up with them the rest of the year," said Principal Will Schmidt.
Parents say they appreciate this opportunity.
"It gives you insight ahead of time on anything you may need or any paper work you need to do," said Marietta Emponsah, who has a daughter entering kindergarten next year.
Kindergarten teacher Christine Goetzinger says having Kindergarten Roundup well before the new school year is a helpful way to give parents and future students enough time to prepare.
