Tuesday afternoon, Iowa Democrats rallied in Council Bluffs in response to President Trump's appearance at the Mid-America Center.
At the rally, Democrats spoke against many policies they say are having negative impacts on rural Iowa.
According to the Democrats, the Trump Administration knows its policy has cost Iowa farmers more than $2 billion.
"This summer, in recognition that their trade policies aren't working for rural Iowa and rural America, they announced a $12 billion aid package to help farmers deal with the losses they're expected to see," Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Tim Gannon said.
The Iowa Democratic Party held rallies in other parts of the state yesterday.
"Yesterday, we held dozens of events across the state. We saw people voting in all 99 counties; we saw people who are fired up, energized and ready to go," said Troy Price, chairman of the Iowa Democratic Party.
