The Iowa Air National Guard is deploying personnel to Puerto Rico to assist with security following Hurricane Maria, according to a release.
In total, there will be 24 security forces. Eight come from the 185th Air Refueling Wing based in Sioux City and the other 16 will come from the 132nd Wing in Des Moines.
The groups are departing from the Guard's Airbase in Des Moines at 9 a.m.
