ASHLAND, Neb. (KMTV) — As a way to help veterans with things like P.T.S.D. many laced up their combat boots and took part in a special hike Saturday. The hike consisted of 22 kilometers, which is more than 13 miles, while carrying 22 kilograms of gear. The number 22 is bringing awareness to the 22 military suicides a day across the nation.
The goal of the hike was to bring veterans together with laughter and company to provide a day of therapy. The message was clear that any vet who may be struggling they have a support system through other veterans.
