Last minute Thanksgiving shopping can be a little hectic.
Store director of the Shadow Lake Hy-Vee, Dan Fuller, said while people tend to remember to pick up items they don’t use in every day cooking they always end up making a second trip to the store to get those everyday items.
Such as:
-Ice
-Eggs
-Milk (in a variety of flavors and lactose-free)
-Foil and resealable bags (for those leftovers)
-Coffee Creamer (for the early hours of Black Friday shopping)
Fuller says it’s a good idea to pick up an extra pie because “having too much, or leftover pie is a good problem.” And don’t forget the topping for that extra dessert, Cool Whip.
Other common items Fuller said people forget is:
-Dinner rolls
-Beer
-Olives
-Cranberry relish
He also says a hostess gift gets picked up last minute and you can’t go wrong with flowers or a bottle of wine.
