The Millard School Community is coping with loss of a longtime teacher.
David Markley, 61, died in a car crash Tuesday morning near Blair High Road in Omaha. Markley was a seventh grade science teacher at Kiewit Middle School and had been with the district for about a decade.
Police say Markley's SUV crossed State Street around 6:30 a.m. and rolled into a ditch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kiewit Principal Marshall Smith said Markley had a heart attack at the wheel.
