A man accused of causing a deadly crash had a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit, according to the Douglas County Attorney’s Office.
Douglas County Attorney Don Kleine says David Hadi’s BAC was recorded at 0.308 by a breath test.
Hadi is accused of causing the crash that killed Carl Gauff and injured Dante Chavez.
“Witnesses told police that Hadi was traveling at a high rate of speed. Hadi then crossed the center line and collided head on with a car traveling eastbound on L Street,” Kleine said in a prepared statement Tuesday.
He says Hadi will face charges of felony motor vehicle homicide and driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury.
Officials say Hadi, who was born in Sudan and became a citizen in 2013, was previously convicted of DUI in Sarpy County in 2007.
He is expected in court on Wednesday.
