LA VISTA, Neb. (KMTV) -- — Even during the Direct Health Measures in place some neighborhoods are seeing door to door salesman.
La Vista Police say on Thursday two men were going door to door near Central Park looking to sell vacuums. Officers say they didn’t have a permit and were asked to stop.
La Vista doesn’t have any active permits and isn’t issuing any sales permits now especially because of social distancing.
Residents can ask a person who may knock on their door if they have a permit or can call the non-emergency line so police can check it out.
“It doesn’t make sense to sit there and have that and then have a person going door to door breaking that 6 feet gap, possibly contaminating multiple houses, so on and so forth. It’s just common sense that that’s not smart to do right now,” said LVPD Officer Dana Miller.
Omaha says they’re also not issuing permits, and non-profits are not required to get one to go door to door.
Police say if you see solicitors without a permit contact the non-emergency number.
