LA VISTA, Neb. (KMTV) - City leaders and developers are expected to host a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning on a former vacant lot.
For years, the former site of a Wal-Mart store near 84th Street and Brentwood Drive sat empty.
Now, a nearly $200 million private development is moving forward, after a decade long discussion, according to Mayor Doug Kindig.
Over the summer, 3 News Now caught up with contractors as they prepped the area for construction of the La Vista City Centre.
City Ventures, the development company behind the project, will develop a mixed-use space for office, retail and 384 apartments, according to spokesperson Jo Giles.
