The Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln is under lockdown this morning.
On Tuesday night, a group of inmates refused to return to their cells after eating dinner.
After guards gave the inmates several verbal commands, a warning shot was fired from the tower.
At the same time, the inmates throughout the facility became defiant and verbally aggressive.
According to a news release, the prisoners eventually returned to their cells.
The facility will remain on lockdown as the incident is being investigated.
Members of the public are encouraged to call the facility before coming for a visit.
No one was injured.
