OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) — Last week, the Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office and the Council Bluffs Police Department (CBPD) were involved in two connected pursuits that ended with an officer fatally shooting a suspect. They say the suspects were linked to two murders. This morning, a press conference was held to go over the results of an investigation into the event.
The press event was held at a Council Bluffs Police Department location at 10 a.m.
At this time, they say April Montello-Roberts gave authorities information linking the two suspects to two separate murder cases.
At this time no charges will be pressed against the officer that took the fatal shot but he was placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
Investigators believe that the guns in Peterson's possession may have belonged to his grandfather.
